MOUNT MORRIS – Amos Henry Taylor Jr., age 87, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017 in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mount Morris. Amos was born April 23, 1930 in Buena Vista, Colo., the son of Amos Henry and Isabelle (Wells) Taylor Sr.
Amos married Rogene E. Mongan on June 2, 1951 in Oregon. Amos worked fro Kable Printing Compnay for 26 years, after Kable Printing Company he worked for The Mount Morris School District in the building maintenance and he was also the bus mechanic. Amos loved his grandchildren, puttering in his garage, driving his golf cart with his grandchildren, he helped Rogene quilt, and he loved his time with his dog Lexi.
Amos is survived by his Children: Kathi (Charles) Medlar, Mt. Morris, Richard (Cathy) Taylor, Davis,  Timothy (Beverly) Taylor, The Woodlands, Houston, Texas, Patricia (William) Nordman, Oregon; Grandchildren: Staci (Steven) Schrader, Shannon, Pamela (David) Watry, Forreston, Michal Medlar, Byron, Shaun, Stephanie, and Joshua Taylor, The Woodland, Houston, Texas, Megan (Rodrigo) Flores, Durand, Amanda Taylor, Rockford, Zachary Taylor, Davis, Allison Taylor, Davis, Ashley Nordman, Oregon, Brad Nordman, Oregon, Brandon and Josh Watry, Plano, Ill., Taylor Schrader, Shannon, and Ashley Schrader, N.M.; Great Grandchildren: John Book, Shannon, Adam Watry, ChampaigneL, Ashley (Brock) Deen-Sanders, Forreston, Abbey Taylor and Jacob Taylor, Houston, Texas, Ethan Flores, Alex Flores, Evan Flores, and Ariana Flores, Durand, Brianna Taylor and Briah Hill, Rockford; Great Great Grandchild, GiGi Schrader, and Ienaya, Miguel and Ezekihal Schrader N.M.
Amos is preceded in death by his parents; wife: Rogene E. Taylor; brothers: Robert, Joe, and James Taylor; sisters: Mildred Mahon and Mary DeBoer.
Funeral service were held Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017 at 2 p.m. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mount Morris, with Rev. Julie Bunt officiating. Burial of cremains will be held at a later date in Lighthouse Cemetery, Oregon. Visitation was held Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017 from 1 p.m. until service time in Finch Funeral Home.
