Hoffman Telecommunicator of the Year

Posted

OREGON – Ogle County Sheriff’s Office Telecommunicator Jennifer Hoffman was selected as Telecommunicator of the year.

Hoffman was nominated for her efforts in assisting a 5-year-old child who called 911 because her mother had collapsed and was unconscious. The 911 call location did not accurately plot, and Jennifer coached the child through reading a piece of mail in order to obtain the correct address.

Telecommunicators usually talk to someone on the worst day of their life. They are a calm voice when situations are spiraling out control. They walk people through CPR when someone collapses or provide instruction when a child is choking.

The Sheriff’s Office said it is extremely proud of our employees and that Hoffman is a perfect example of the public servant that represent this Office and the citizens of Ogle County.
