MONROE CENTER – Lillian Herbeck, age 91, went Home on June 18, 2017. She was born in Springfield, Mass., on Dec. 16, 1925 the daughter of Ronald and Sarah (Hoag) Waters.
Lillian, a ’44 graduate of Technical H.S., and Herbert Herbeck, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, eloped on June 20, 1944 and were joyfully married almost 73 years. During her 30 years working for a General Electric Co. in Chicago she became the secretary. Lillian faithfully loved and served Jesus, her husband Herb, family, her church and so many friends. She adored her kitties and “mastered” in crafting, collecting memories, cooking and entertaining – welcoming at any gathering.
Lillian is survived by her daughter, Susan (James) Moon of Monroe Center; daughter-in-law Joyce Herbeck of Bozeman, Mont.; sister-in-law, Doris Waters of Vancouver, Wash.; grandchildren Molly (Gene) Engelkes, Amanda (David) Poulin, Jason (Mariah) Herbeck, Josh (Staci) Herbeck, Journey Herbeck and step great-grandchildren Kara (Drayton) Saunders, Jacob (Becca) Poulin and Zachary Poulin; great-grandchildren Connor, Dalton, Carson, Sidonie, Zadie, Ren; and step great-great-grandchild Kinsley Grace; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her son Thomas Herbeck, grandchild Jamie Moon, siblings and in-laws Robert (Marion), Robina, Ronald (Mary), Thomas, Alyce, Charles, Edward (Louise), nephew Rob and niece Liz.
A Celebration of Life will be held July 1 at 11 a.m. at Kishwaukee Church with Pastor Eric Tonjes officiating. Visitation to be held one hour prior to service. Memorials may be donated to Pinecrest Terrace, Kishwaukee Church and Serenity Hospice & Home. The family expresses sincere gratefulness for the loving Pinecrest family of staff and friends.
