Margaret 'Margie' Johnson

OREGON – Margaret “Margie” Johnson, of Oregon, passed away on March 18, 2018. She was born in Freeport on June 1, 1932 the daughter of George and Eva (Foley) Egan.

She married Greayer Johnson on Oct. 25, 1952 in Oregon. He passed away on Jan. 23, 1994. Margie worked in banking and as a real estate agent in the area for many years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Byron. Margie was devoted to her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Twyla (Jay) Smith of Byron and Lori (John) Nolan of Byron; sisters, Dolores Goley and Patricia (Edward Tuttle) Franz; grandchildren, Johnna (Ronnie) Hiers of Savannah, Ga., Lindsay Wills of Geneva, and Jarrett Smith of Byron; and great grandchildren Nolan Wills and Eva Hiers.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Mary Alice Fletcher, William Egan, Ellen Toms, and Phil Egan.

Christian Funeral Mass was 11 a.m., Friday, March 23, 2018 at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Byron with the Rev. Howard Barch officiating. Visitation was prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Burial at Lighthouse Cemetery in Oregon. Donations may be made to the University of Wisconsin Madison Children’s Hospital Carbone Fund.
