PEARL CITY – Marilyn A. (Clancy) DeVries, 86, of Pearl City passed away peacefully Monday, May 15, 2017 at 8:46 p.m. at The Grand Victorian in Rockford. Born July 6, 1930 in Freeport, the daughter of James S. and Agnes M. (Brown) Clancy and step-mother Isabelle M. (Penticoff) Clancy.
Married Dale L. DeVries on Aug. 7, 1955 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Freeport.  he and her husband lived in Pearl City at 10700 West Loran Road since they were newlyweds in 1955 and raised a family there.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her loving husband Dale and is survived by her daughters, Cynthia (Tom) Collins of Wisconsin Dells, Wis.,, Jacqueline (Glenda) DeVries of Rockford, and Valerie (Joe) Polman of Stevens Point, Wis.; grandchildren Bryan Collins, Breyann Collins, Annaleigh Polman, Annika Polman, and Arrington Polman.
Marilyn graduated from Aquin High School. She worked at the First National Bank and the Freeport Theater, and then worked with her husband Dale DeVries in their auctioneering business and the Pearl City Sale Barn. Marilyn was a woman who always put her family first. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Marilyn enjoyed doing laundry, ironing, all of the baby animals on the farm and living on their farm in Pearl City. Her family will always remember her as a hardworking, thoughtful and loving woman.
Visitation was from 8:30-9:30 a.m., tribute and sharing from 9:30-10:15 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, 504 N. Walnut Avenue, Freeport. 
Funeral service followed at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1400 Kiwanis Drive, Freeport. Burial followed immediately after service at Highland Cemetery, Route 73 at the north edge of Pearl City.
