Naomi Tilbury Hendrickson

BYRON – Naomi Tilbury Hendrickson, age 90, died Monday, March 26, 2018, in Lawson, Mo., where she had resided for the past 15 years. Naomi was born Feb. 21, 1928, in Marietta, Minn. 

Naomi and her loving husband Walter T. Hendrickson were married Oct. 20, 1946, in Guthrie, Minn. The couple moved to Byron in 1948 where they eventually purchased and operated Blackhawk Builders for many years. Naomi and Walter were among the original developers of the Neighbors Nursing and Care Facility in Byron.

Naomi was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Byron since its founding in 1956.  he volunteered over the years for several civic and community groups and causes.

She was an avid reader and bird watcher. Naomi enjoyed big band music and loved to travel. She and Walter visited over 40 countries together.

Naomi was preceded in death by her devoted husband Walter and daughter-in-law Coralee (Ronald) Hendrickson.  

She is survived by her three sons, Scott (very special daughter-in-law Sandy) Hendrickson of Lawson, Mo.; Charles Hendrickson, LaCrosse, Wis.; and Ronald Hendrickson, Arlington, Va. Seven grandchildren: Amy (Matt) Steier, Scott (Gabrielle) Hendrickson, David (Etsuko) Hendrickson, Robert (Christine) Hendrickson, Samuel Hendrickson, Seth Hendrickson, and Sadie Hendrickson. Great grandchildren: Zachary and Emilia Steier, Robert Hendrickson, twins Gwendolyn and Genevieve Hendrickson, and Noah Hendrickson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the Ferrell Holland Gale Chapel, 506 Merchant Street, Byron.
