BYRON – Shelby J. Reber, age 66, passed away on Feb. 25, 2018 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford. She was born on Oct. 2, 1951 in Rockford the daughter of Hibbard and Shirley (Ashelford) Reber.

Shelby was a Byron High School graduate class of 1970. She worked for Kysor of Byron until her retirement. Shelby loved her family and was an incredibly active aunt especially to her great nieces and nephews. She was an avid collector of Pillsbury Doughboy memorabilia and helped tremendously with the Hib Reber Memorial Car Show.

She is survived by her mother, Shirley Reber of Byron; siblings, Jackie (David) Ward of Stockton, Calif., and Darrell (Lisa) Reber of Byron; nieces and nephews, Robert (Rita) Ward, Michael (Susan) Ward, Daniel Ward, Jessica (Veordo Gamble) Ward, and Adam Reber; great nieces and nephews, Justin, Elizabeth, Samantha, Andrea, Kyle, Seth, Trenton, Sydney, and Felicia; and great-great nieces and nephew, Aurora, Shane, and Haley.

She was preceded in death by her father, sister Vicki Reber, great nephew Benjamin Ward, and special dog Snickers.

A celebration of life will be held from noon-2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the United Church of Byron with Pastor Jesse Tanner officiating. A luncheon will be provided. A memorial is established in her name. Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home in Byron is assisting the family with arrangements.
