Girls Soccer: Oregon defeats Aurora Central Catholic to win IHSA 1A Oregon Regional Championship

Hawks advance to sectional tournament with 4-1 win Tuesday

OREGON — The Oregon High School varsity girls soccer team won the IHSA 1A Oregon Regional Championship on Tuesday evening. The Hawks opened the tournament with a 9-0 victory against Rosary on Saturday, May 11. Oregon advanced to the finals and defeated Aurora Central Catholic 4-1 to clinch the regional crown. The Hawks are now 18-1-0 overall this year.

The team includes Mya Engelkes, Anna Stender, Deborah Schmid, Addison Rufer, Kenna Wubbena, Shaylee Davis, Aniyah Sarver, Sarah Eckardt, Sofia Mateos Blanco, Mia Guajardo, Teagan Champley, Mili Zaval, Noelle Girton, Alease McLain, Arianna Chapa, Arianna Hammer, Madilyn Foster, Paloma Sampaio, Emily Watters and Hailey-Jane Becker.

The team is coached by Seger Larson, Danny Chisamore and Tiffany Rufer.
