OREGON — Jarod Michael Lehrke, age 24, gained his angel wings after a sudden, unexpected seizure in his home in Freeport, IL.  He was born August 25, 1999 in Rockford, IL, the third child of Jeff and Kate (Noirfalise) Lehrke. 

Jarod worked for Stewart Security in Freeport, IL, as an unarmed security patrol officer. He also worked for JC WiFi in Freeport, IL as a tower and home wifi antenna installer.  Jarod was active in the Boy Scouts of America all of his life.  He earned the rank of an Eagle Scout on December 15, 2014 with 7 palms through the Oregon Boy Scout Troop 52 of Oregon, IL. 

Jarod is a member of the Order of The Arrow by sealing his Brotherhood. He spent several years on Camp Staff at Camp Lowden BSA, Oregon, IL.  Jarod graduated from Newman Central Catholic High School, Sterling IL, in 2017.  While at Sterling Newman, he ran cross country, participated in the choir and was in the school musical “The Music Man”. 

He is survived by his parents Jeff & Kate Lehrke, brother Joshua, sister Kyla & Josh Adams and nephew Dexter, all of Oregon; maternal grandmother Verva Thomas of Oregon; paternal grandmother Jeri Lehrke of Mt. Morris; Aunt Janet & Phil Platz of Oregon; cousins Stephen Braden and Julie & Tim Border of Mt. Morris; cousins Sarah Melvin and Andrew Melvin; maternal uncle, Larry & Corina Noirfalise, Jr. of Queen Creek, Arizona; along with great aunts, great uncles, and cousins. 

He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Jerry Lehrke and maternal grandfather Dick Thomas.  Jarod’s family wish to acknowledge Dillon Gallentine, Jarod’s roommate, for all he has done.  Thank you will never be enough.  You will always be remembered.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday evening, January 24th at the Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home, Oregon, IL followed by a 7:00 PM Rosary Service.   A funeral mass to be held 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 25th at Saint Patrick’s Church in Dixon, IL.
