Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: Dec. 5-7, 2023

OREGON — On Dec. 5 at approximately 12:26 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 7,000 block of North Illinois Route 251. After an investigation, deputies placed Rolando Cruz, 60, of Hillcrest under arrest for driving while license revoked. Cruz was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was issued his citations for driving while license revoked, no insurance and suspended registration. Cruz was booked in the jail and released on a notice to appear with a future court date. 

On Dec. 5 at 8:01 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 19,000 block of East Illinois Route 38. As a result, Hazem D. Algomai, 30, of Spartanburg, South Carolina was arrested for driving while license suspended. Algomai was additionally issued a citation for speeding. Algomai was released on a notice to appear with a return court date.

On Dec. 5 at 11:25 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on East Illinois Route 64 at First Street in the town of Kings. As a result, deputies arrested Antonio M. Martinez, 31, of Rochelle for no valid driver's license. Martinez was additionally issued citations for expired registration and illegal transportation/possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle/driver. Martinez was released on a notice to appear.

On Dec. 7 at approximately 10:58 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at Woodlawn Road and Welty Road for a registration violation. After a brief investigation, deputies arrested Daniel Rabago, 41, of Carpentersville, for driving while license suspended. Rabago was additionally cited for no front plate and no insurance. Rabago was released on a notice to appear. All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On Dec. 7 at approximately 3:41 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 16,000 block of East Lindenwood Road. After a brief investigation, deputies arrested Yesenia Pasillas, 46, of Davis Junction, for driving while license suspended. Pasillas was released on a notice to appear.

On Dec. 7 at approximately 5:42 p.m. deputies with the assistance of the Oregon Fire Department, responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 500 block of West Pines Road, in Oregon. After a brief investigation, it was determined that a Mack Anthem semi-truck and trailer driven by Arthur K. Guernsey, 56, of Sterling, failed to negotiate a curve while traveling eastbound on West Pines Road, causing the semi to leave the roadway and overturn. Guernsey was transported to Mercy Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
