Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: Jan. 2-4, 2024

OREGON — On Jan. 2 at 1:53 a.m. deputies, with the assistance of Illinois State Police, conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 39 southbound and Illinois Route 64. After a brief investigation, Keion Anderson, 27, of Sycamore, was arrested for driving while license suspended. Anderson was released with a notice to appear with a future court date. Anderson was also issued citations for expired registration and inoperable registration light.

On Jan. 3 at approximately 6:30 a.m. deputies and Mt. Morris Fire and Ambulance responded to a one-vehicle accident in the 1,200 block of North Mt. Morris Road.  After an investigation it was determined that a farm feed truck operated by Eastland Feed Company was southbound on Mt. Morris Road when the truck slid into the eastside ditch due to icy road conditions. The driver of the truck, Robert S. Kuhlemeier, 44, of Pearl City, was uninjured in the accident. No citations were issued.

On Jan. 3 at 9:10 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the 11,000 block of East Big Mound Road for a single-vehicle accident. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that a green 1998 Chevrolet Blazer was traveling westbound in the 11,000 block of East Big Mound Road, when the driver, Kenneth C. Baie, 18, of Sycamore lost control of the vehicle on the ice-covered road. The vehicle then spun sideways before entering the south ditch, and overturned multiple times, before coming to a rest. The driver was uninjured in the accident, and no citations were issued. Deputies were assisted on scene by the Stillman Valley Fire Department/EMS.

On Jan. 3 at 7:49 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 6,000 block of North Illinois Route 251. As a result, Jacob J. Doane, 25, of Davis Junction was arrested on an Ogle County warrant for driving under the influence (no bond). Doane was additionally cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, with a return court date of Jan. 19 at 9 a.m.. Doane was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was detained on the no bond Ogle County warrant.

On Jan. 3 at approximately 11:38 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop within the 100 block of North Union Street in Byron. After investigation, deputies placed Brandon M. Taylor, 26, of Byron, under arrest for driving while license suspended. Taylor was additionally cited for operating a second-division vehicle without splash guards. Taylor was released at the scene, with a return court date later this month provided.

On Jan. 4 at 6:29 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of South Illinois Route 251 at East Twombly Road. As a result, Leigha K. Thompson, 31, of Byron was arrested for driving while license suspended. Thompson was additionally issued a citation for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Thompson was released on a notice to appear with a future court date.

On Jan. 4 at approximately 8:30 a.m. deputies arrested Theresa Miller, 43, of Rockford on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for deceptive practices.  Miller appeared in court and was subsequently released from the Ogle County Jail.  Miller will return to court on Jan. 17 at 10 a.m.

On Jan. 4 at approximately 8:43 p.m. deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 8,000 block of North Illinois Route 2. After further investigation Alexzander Stiers, 24, of Rockford, was placed under arrest for driving while license revoked. Stiers was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and suspended registration. Stiers was transported to the Ogle County Jail and released on a notice to appear.

On Jan. 4 at approximately 6:32 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on South Illinois Route 26 near Pilgrim Road. After a brief investigation, deputies arrested Justin M. Charleston, 27, of Dixon on a Lee County warrant for failure to appear. Charleston was transferred to Lee County Sheriff’s Office, who transported him to the Lee County Jail.

All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
