OREGON – Adam Young, 42 formerly of Oregon, died May 24, 2018. He was born Nov. 9, 1975 in Dixon to Douglas and Sue Young. 

Adam enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves after graduating Oregon High School in 1993. He was an avid San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Cubs fan. Adam enjoyed attending numerous live music festivals and concerts with friends and family. He was quick witted and loved to talk about polictics. Adam was equally easy going and free spirited. He worked proudly as a carpenter throughout his life, enjoying building with his hands. Adam appreciated the outdoors with activities like fishing, playing catch and camping.

Adam is survived by his father, Douglas (Cheryl) Young of Hebron; his sister, Nichole Gilbert (Brad Gerry) of Oregon, nieces and nephews; Claire and Carter Gilbert of Oregon, and Anthony and Britney Gerry of Bolingbrook; and several uncles and aunts and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sue Young-Burgess (Henrichsen); his stepfather, Jim Burgess; his maternal and paternal grandparents, two uncles and cousins.

 A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 9 at 11a.m. in White Pines State Park located at 6712 West Pines Road Mount Morris.
