Barbara Louise Pollock Williams

Barbara Louise Pollock Williams, 85, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at Brookdale-Chambrel in Roswell, Ga., on Sept. 26, 2019. Born Nov. 6, 1933 in Dixon, the daughter of Robert and Edna (Hartwig) Pollock.

Barbara graduated from Polo High School in 1951 and Rockford Business College. She worked as an executive secretary for Kable News Company in Mt. Morris. Barbara took pride in her career and occasionally traveled to New York City on business trips. On July 29, 1969 Barbara married Floyd Williams in Chicago. They enjoyed playing golf and traveling together. Barbara enjoyed flower gardening, spending time outdoors hiking and playing tennis with her family.

Barbara is survived by her son, David Miller of Los Angeles, Calif., daughter, Sharon (Mehdi) Hashemi of Roswell, Ga.; two grandchildren Matthew and Meghan Hashemi.

She is predeceased by her parents and her husband.

A private visitation will be held at Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon. A Graveside service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019 at the Riverview Cemetery in Oregon with the Rev. Brian LaBaron of the Faith United Methodist Church of Polo officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Barbara’s name may be made to Lifescape Community Services’ Meals on Wheels.
