BYRON – Beth Ann Typer, age 59, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born on June 7, 1958 in Rockford the daughter of George and Phyllis (Johnson) Ashby.
From the moment Beth was born she was a fighter. She was a medical miracle under going multiple surgeries, including a kidney transplant and being diagnosed with VHL. She is a graduate of Byron High School class of 1977. Beth loved sunsets, fishing and traveling. She especially loved riding the Harley with her husband and playing at the beach with her children, nieces, and nephews. She worked at the Byron Middle School library and loved to pass on her love of reading to the children there. Beth was also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Duncan of Byron; children, Randyn Typer of Okla., Katie (Shadly) Diab of Peoria, and Monty Typer of Byron; sisters, Patty (Tim) McCaffrey of Amboy and Kathy (Don) Brown of Arkdale, Wis.; granddaughter, Taqwa and triplet grandchildren on the way; many nieces and nephews; and her service dog Henry.
She is preceded in death by her parents and nephew Billy McCaffrey.
Funeral mass was held at 10: a.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Byron. Visitation was held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home in Byron concluding with a rosary at 7 p.m. Burial at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Amboy.
