BYRON – Betty Mae Meeker, 90 of Byron, died at 3:05 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2019 in Generations Nursing Home in Byron surrounded by her loving family. 

She was born Sept. 23, 1928 in Grinnell, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George and Garnet (Cooke) Lindsey. Betty married Robert Wesley Meeker in Pecatonica, on May 19, 1951. She was employed as a machine operator by Quality Metal in Byron, for 10 years. She was a member of The Red Brick Church in Stillman Valley. 

Survivors include son Jeff (Sheryl) Meeker; daughters Sue French, Beth (Art) Erickson; son Tim (Janet) Meeker; daughter Penny Meeker; son John (Jennifer) Meeker; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; sister Sally (Glenn) Hansen and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 10 brothers and sisters.

A funeral ceremony was held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 14, 2019 in McCorkle Funeral Home – Pecatonica Chapel, 203 West 5th St., Pecatonica, with Pastor Chris Brauns of The Red Brick Church officiating. Burial in Pecatonica Cemetery. A visitation was held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of ceremony on Thursday.
