MT. CARROLL — The Byron Middle School wrestling team finished second as a team at the IESA Regional in Mr. Carroll on Feb. 23. 10 Byron wrestlers advanced to sectionals on March 4 at Johnsburg Middle School.

BMS advancers from the regional included: Aiden Salo (seventh grade, first place, 85 pounds), William Julian (eighth grade, first place, 119 pounds), Anthony Materazza (eighth grade, first place, 275 pounds), Dylan Meyer (seventh grade, second place, 95 pounds), Hunter King (eighth grade, second place,  112 pounds), Cael O’horo (eighth grade, second place, 119 pounds), Keegan Bonnell (eighth grade, second place, 185 pounds), Rylie Meyer (sixth grade, third place, 90 pounds), Aubin Oliver (seventh grade, third place, 112 pounds) and Gavin Springer (sixth grade, third place, 215 pounds).  

The BMS team is coached by Coach O’horo, Coach Ingram, Coach Brantner and Coach Seaver.
