Byron boys, girls golf tee off season

BYRON — The Byron High School boys and girls golf teams teed off the 2020 season against Genoa-Kingston on Wednesday, Aug. 19. The Tiger boys won 173-218 behind medalist Maison Brandt’s 40 and runner-up Eric Detig’s 42. The Tiger girls topped Genoa-Kingston 201-230, with medalist Paige Bukoski shooting 47 and runner-up Shannon McHale adding 48.

Byron continued action against Dixon on Thursday, Aug. 20. The Tiger boys won 180-212, with Maison Brandt carding 41 for medalist honors and runner-up Logan Remhof recording 43. The Tiger girls fell 180-198 despite 45 from Ava Kultgen and 47 from Paige Bukoski.

Byron hosted the annual Tiger Shootout on Saturday, Aug. 22 at PrairieView Golf Club. The Tiger boys placed third with 346 behind third-place finisher Maison Brandt’s 82 and fourth-place winner Eric Detig’s 82. Logan Remhof medaled in ninth place with 87.
