NORMAL — The Byron varsity girls basketball team will play for a 2A state championship on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. after defeating Butler 55-43 on Thursday in an IHSA semifinal contest. The Tigers’ record currently stands at 34-2. The trip to state is the fourth in the program’s history, and the Tigers claimed titles in 2016 and 2017.

Byron will face off with Mater Dei on Saturday.
