Byron High School honors SAT High Achievers

Posted

BYRON – Fourteen seniors were honored recently at Byron High School before the start of a home football game.

The students were recognized for their incredible performance on the SAT they took last spring.  The student’s scores were high enough to be considered in the top 15 percent of over 1 million tests taken by students across the country.

Our teachers and staff should also be congratulated on this accomplishment. This year was the first time our students collectively took the SAT. This assessment, which measures Career and College Readiness, is an indicator of the quality of teacher performance in the Byron Community Unit School District. Much time and effort has gone into aligning curriculum and preparing students to be successful in and out of the classroom. We are highlighting some of the impressive students we have here in Byron.

Congratulations to Ryan Benidt, son of Tim and Mary Benidt, Madeleine Brass, daughter of Andre and Marguerite Brass, Caden Fritz, son of Danay Voiles, Ashton Johnson, daughter of Brandon and Robyn Johnson, Ethan Kirk, son of Patrick and Heather Kirk, Madeleine Libman, daughter of Daniel and Molly Libman, Braden Little, son of Jay and Cortini Little, Kennedy Markhan, daughter of Bryan Markham and Sarah Childers, Melody Phelps, daughter of David Phelps, Dayne Snodgrass, son of Brett and Daphne Snodgrass, Kennedy Turner, daughter of Dale and Amy Turner, Geoffrey VanHeeren, son of Douglas and Nancy VanHeeren, Amanda Williams, daughter of Linda Williams and Ron Ulrich, Brock Wilson, son of Kelly and Sharalyn Wilson.
