Carol Jo Martin, formerly from Mt. Morris, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2020 at Aperion Nursing Home in Elgin. Jo was born on Nov. 3, 1947 in Oregon to Sylvia Heather.
She attended Oregon Schools. Jo married Theron “Dale” Pretzsch in 1964 and together they had 3 children Rick, Tammy Jo and Tabatha. Throughout her life she was a great mom, housewife, sister and aunt. Jo loved her entire family with all her heart. After her family had grown Jo worked for Generations in Byron as a CNA and she also did home healthcare.
She is survived by her son Rick Pretzsch of Texas and six grandkids Theron Casey “TC” Naylon, Zac Naylon, Josh Naylon, Jake Haiges, Nikki Pretzsch, Rikki Pretzsch and two great grandchildren Max and Alice Naylon. Sister Cindy (Denny) Pederson, Brothers Jack (Kathy) Heather, Tom (Heather) Early and Jerry Early several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husbands Dale Pretzsch and Harry Messenger, daughters Tammy Jo Pretzsch and Tabatha Naylon, Mother Sylvia Early, Sister Debra (Bob) Glover and Melody Early, Brother Jeff Early.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Oct. 16, 2021 at the Daysville Cemetery in Oregon. Please no flowers. Memorial fund and cards can be sent to Sue Miller 235 W Roosevelt Rd Stillman Valley IL 61084
