MONROE, WIS. – Charlene P. Nielsen, age 82 of Argyle, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2017 at Monroe Manor Nursing Home. She was born on Nov. 3, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Vernon and Lorraine (Schultz) Simmons.
She graduated from Tuley High School in Chicago. Charlene married Raymond Nielsen on Nov. 8, 1952 in Chicago. She was employed as an office worker for cable news in Mount Morris, and after moving to Monroe she worked at Swiss Colony. She enjoyed putting together Jig saw puzzles.
She is survived by her 4 children: Norman Nielsen of Monroe, Carl (Cindy) Nielsen of Argyle, Laura (Michael) Molnar of Byron, and Peggy (Dennis) Coleman of Fla.; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Robert Nielsen; daughter, Cindy Babler; 2 brothers, Harvey and Donald; and a sister, Sally Kouns.
A Memorial Service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017 at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home with Chaplain Sue Hall officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.
