OREGON – The COVID-19 positivity rate is up again in Ogle County, Kyle Auman told the County Board at its Nov. 16 meeting.
Auman, the Ogle County Health Department health administrator, said the positivity rate was at 6.28 percent in the county. Last month he reported to the board that it was 4.18 percent. In September it was 6.94 percent.
“In the last 30 days, we’ve had six new COVID-related deaths,” Auman told the board.
He told the board that on Nov. 15 there were 65 new cases, and 18 the day of the meeting. He said 50.28 percent of the county is fully vaccinated. That number is up slightly from last month when it was at 49.5 percent.
He said the Heath Department is still administering first and second doses, as well as booster shots at its locations in Oregon and Rochelle.
The following groups can currently get the booster:
* People ages 65 and over who could have a health condition that means they need a booster.
* People 18 and older who live in a permanent care setting.
* People18 and older with an underlying medical condition.
* People 18 and older who live or work in a high-risk setting.
Auman also said they are now giving pediatric doses. Those are available for children ages 5-11.
