OREGON – Daniel A. Sheely, age 46, of Oregon, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019. He was born on Oct. 25, 1973, to Fredrick and Beverley (Gaul) Sheely at KSB Hospital in Dixon. Dan was a graduate of Mount Morris High School, Class of 1992.
Dan married Andria Nevenhoven on Sept. 22, 2000, in Las Vegas, Nev. They have two daughters, Taylor and Allison Sheely.
Dan was a loving family man who always put his family first. He was a proud Pinecricker, a member of the Mount Morris Moose, and was always willing to lend a hand to his friends, family, and neighbors. Dan worked for the street department in the Village of Mount Morris. He also farmed on the family farm alongside his dad. Dan was an avid outdoorsman and had a passion for hunting white-tailed deer. He cheered for Chicago Bears Football and liked watching NASCAR. He enjoyed reminiscing about his high school football days as a Mounder. Dan loved spending time with his family and close circle of friends.
Dan is predeceased by his grandparents Kenneth and Dorothy Gaul; grandparents Galen and Dorothy Sheely; and father-in-law Ron Nevenhoven.
Dan is survived by his wife Andria and daughters Taylor and Allison, all of Oregon; parents Fred and Bev Sheely of Oregon; sister Chris (Brad) Weller of Mount Morris; sister Janet (Ken) Olson of Davis Junction; niece Jessica Weller of Chicago; nephew Adam Weller of Mount Morris; mother-in-law Brenda Nevenhoven of Mount Morris; sister-in-law Lisa Nevenhoven of Mesa, Arizona; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Sunday, Nov. 24 from 1-4 p.m. at the Finch Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 25, 2019 at 10:30 a.m., also at the Finch Funeral Home, with Pastor Ginny Haney officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established at a later date.
