Daniel Scott Cook

Daniel Scott Cook was born on Nov. 14, 1972 born to David Cook and Sherry Laney. He died Sept. 2, 2019 of natural causes.

He was well known as Dano, Dad, Brother, Friend and now Grandpa. He was a laborer throughout his entire life. He wore many hats in the construction field and enjoyed working with his hands. He was a proud man and proud of the work that he accomplished, he showed it off as much as he could. Cook was not only his last name but something that he loved to do and to teach to his daughter Julia. Dan and Kim Miller had his only daughter in November 1998 and they remained close for the sake of her. If he wasn't working you could find him in his man cave devouring a sausage and mushroom Home Run Inn Pizza while drinking a cold Budweiser, watching the Raiders or White Sox game.

If you knew Dan well, you know that he couldn't be without his 'salad'! He enjoyed taking Julia to Chicago where they would end up the zoo looking at the alligators. He enjoyed music as well, whether it was playing his guitar, going to concerts, or listening to KISS and Metallica LOUDLY on his surround system. Dan was a kid at heart and would go to the carnival to ride the rides, liked strolling on the riverfront and was happy being at home watching movies. Kim said it best: "If Dan had a carne asada burrito, a Dos Equis and a shot of tequila, he was a very happy man."

Dan sometimes had trouble expressing his emotions, but if he loved you, he was dedicated to you and you knew it! Dan is survived by his grandma Phyllis, Mother Sherry, daughter Julia, grandson Elijah, brothers David and Jeremy as well as many friends and extended family.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. located at 1269 Cap Road, Dixon. Please come and help his loved ones celebrate the way Dan would!
