David William Livingston Sr.

POLO – David William Livingston Sr. passed away on Aug. 6th, 2018 of natural causes in Urbana.

 David was born in Dixon to Ivan and Betty Livingston, on April 14, 1939. He spent many years in the Polo area, completing his primary and secondary education in Milledgeville and marrying his first wife, Connie Frey, now Connie Livingston-Dunn. David proudly served his country in the army as part of the 25th Infantry Division, Tropic Lightning, while living in Hawaii. After his service, David completed a bachelors degree in psychology from Illinois State University, where he met and married his second wife, Terri Lynn Freeman.

 David became a union painter in the Local 363 and worked at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana for twenty years before retiring in 2002. He was an avid gun collector, a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast, and loved his dogs very, very much.

David is proceeded in death by his parents Betty and Ivan and his sister Georgeanne Livingston Donegan.  

He is survived by his sister Dianne Livingston Bellows and wife Terri Lynn Livingston, his children Penni Livingston (Phillip Greene), David Livingston Jr. (Renee Livingston), Polli Toms (Fred Toms), Janice Hawbaker (Toby Hawbaker), and Susan Livingston (David Nichols), his grandchildren Jessica Johnson, Samantha Darr (Tim Darr), Opal Toms, David Livingston III, and Franklin Endress, and his great grandchildren Paige and Sean Johnson. He is greatly missed. 

There will be a celebration of his life at American Legion/Chesty P’s Pub, 104 East Mason St., in Polo Illinois on Aug. 18 at 2 p.m. We ask that attendants consider bringing a dish to share.
