OREGON – Diane M. Welenc, age 48, passed away in her home on May 12, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. Diane was born May, 19, 1969 in Chicago, the daughter of Robert and Monica Larakers.
Diane graduated from Morgan Park High School, class of 1988. She married Greg Welenc on Sept. 21, 1994 in Chicago. After moving to Oregon, she opened a daycare out of her home. For 14 years she dedicated herself to all the children she cared for. She truly enjoyed her profession. Diane was a caring, loving, and devoted wife, sister, and daughter. When it came to family, friends, and neighbors Diane was the “go to”! She would share her thoughts, love and compassion with them. In return, they loved her back.
Diane is survived by her husband: Greg Welenc, Oregon; children: daughter Jada and son Kory, Oregon; mother: Monica Larakers, Sterling; sister: Katie (George) Edwards, Tinley Park; also many nieces and nephews.
Diane is preceded in death by her father Robert Larakers and brother John Larakers.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 21, 2018 at the VFW in Oregon, from noon-4 p.m. Memorials to be determined at a later date.
