BYRON – Doris Carlson is now singing and dancing with her Lord, having joined Him the morning of Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018, at the age of 93.
She was born Doris Elsie Ingrid Carlson on March 6th, 1925, in Galesburg, to parents Oscar and Maude (Swanson). She loved her work at the Village of Progress in Oregon, and her community at Salvation Army Church. Her passions in life included singing, her family, the Christmas holiday, and everything the color red. She was a determined woman, who was always honest and full of joy.
Doris will be fondly remembered by her nephews Larry (Joy), Daniel, and Butch (Joana); nieces Jan and Cheryl (Jeff); great-nephews Joe, David, and Steve; great-niece Tracey (Alan); several great-great-nephews and -nieces; and even a few great-great-great-nephews and -nieces.
Doris was predeceased by her parents Oscar and Maude; brother Raymond; sisters Marilyn and Margaret; and nieces Sharon and Linda.
She is interred at Mouth of Stillman Cemetery in Ogle County, alongside her parents and siblings.
Heaven is made for souls such as yours, Doris. You will be forever treasured.
