BYRON – Doris Olsen, age 82, passed away on Jan. 4, 2020 at The Meadows in Franklin Grove. She was born in Lincoln, Ill., the daughter of Auvine and Edna (Kush) Voyles.
She married John Olsen on Dec. 7, 1968. Doris was a Marine Corps veteran. She was a member of the Boot Scootin Seniors. She loved to travel especially to Washington D.C. and Texas where she learned to line dance and clog. Her passion was hosting and entertaining her family and friends.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Cindy (Rob) Fisher, Tammy (Todd) Modrzejewski, Keith (Ann) Olsen, Gary (Doris) Reed, Ricky Reed, and Brian Reed; sibling-in-law, Elaine Reed; cousins, Milton (Judy) Welch and Gary (Julie) Hoyland; and special friends, Jo Bevins, Donna Jaeger, the whole Boot Scootin Crew, and many other friends.
Per Doris’ wishes a private burial in Byron Cemetery will be held with no other services.
