Egidio Frank Aliprandini

BYRON – Egidio Frank Aliprandini, 93, of Byron passed away in Rockford on April 20, 2017. He was born July 23, 1923 in Rockford, the son of Peter J. and Louise (Zordan) Aliprandini.
He attended St. Anthony School and Rockford High School and then he entered the Army Air Forces in 1944 and 15thArmy while proudly serving in the European Theater of Operations during WWII. After returning from the service, Frank married the love of his life, Ellen Pagles, in Rockford, on April 17, 1948. He owned and operated Frank’s Wrecker Service & Gulf Station in Byron, for many years and also was a semi-truck driver for Rockford Bakery.
Frank enjoyed working on classic cars and was always working on various things in his garage. He loved playing his accordion in the Army and various places in Rockford, and enjoyed being with family and friends talking about many things. He was a very proud WWII veteran and American loved his country!
Survivors include sons, Warren (Sue) of Monroe Center, Eric (Bonnie) of Rockford; daughters, Nancy (Ron) Svartoien and Jessica Bonne both of Byron; grandchildren:Peter C. Aliprandini, Shelley Daly, Becky (Sean) Adams, Teri (Todd Faley) Schmidt, Jodi (Corey) Jones, Clark Aliprandini, Anna (Paul) Martin, Geoffrey and Justin (Melissa) Bonne, Jenna (Curt) Schaid; and many great grandchildren, along with his special dog Ellie.
He was predeceased in death by his wife, Ellen in 2001 and son, Dennis in 2008.
Services and burial are private.
A Celebration of his Life will was held for family and friends on Sunday April 30, 2017 at (daughter) Nancy & Ron Svartoien’s home in Byron from 2-4 pm.
Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Byron assisted the family with arrangements.
