ROCKFORD – Ethel L. DeVore passed away peacefully on Jan. 17, 2019 in Rockford, at her home in Independence Village. She was born on March 29, 1927 to Rolland and Helen (Bruns) Fraley in White Rock, Ill.
Ethel was married to Raymond DeVore, Sr. on Aug. 23, 1946. She worked many years as a Nurses Aide at St. Anthonys Hospital in Rockford.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Bob) Grabnik of Winthrop Harbor, Ill., son Raymond DeVore Jr., of Telford, Tenn., daughter Deborah (Bob) Hutchinson of Miramar, Fla., 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, with one due in June, and a sister Phyllis (Delbert) Tedrick of Winnebago.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond DeVore, Sr., daughter-in-law, Pam DeVore, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Ethel’s wishes were to be cremated and have her ashes buried next to her husband at the cemetery in Monroe Center. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to your favorite charity. Arrangements were entrusted to Cremation Society of Illinois. For information call 847-577-6505.
