OREGON – The Ogle County Fair Queen pageant is once again pleased to announce that we have a beautiful limited edition hand-woven basket available for purchase in support of the 2018 fair queen pageant.
Following last year’s success, we’re excited about having the highest-quality basket to offer that is handcrafted right here in Illinois. Judy Hogdin of Apple River, Ill., started making baskets more than 30 years ago. Some of you may have been fortunate to have seen her booth and the variety and quality of her baskets at the Ogle County Fair last year, and we’re extremely excited to announce that Judy will be joining us again this year with her booth at the Ogle County Fair, so please take time during the fair to visit her booth.
The basket she crafted for the Ogle County Fair specifically, rests on an 8-inch square base that tapers into an oval top along with the decoratively woven 2-inch handle. The base is of solid wood construction, and the basket is stained in a beautiful medium brown to complement its design with rustic pieces intertwined. Each basket will be numbered as in years past. We can offer the basket for the price of still only $40 dollars each this year.
