Fairy fun at the Oregon park District

Posted

OREGON – The Oregon Park District had 19 adorable fairies frolicking around at Nash Recreation Center on Saturday, April 14.

The experience began with Fairy Fun in the gym. Girls had the opportunity to have hair and make-up done by our local experts from Red Stone Salon & Spa-Oregon, JTI Salon & Spa-Oregon, and Polished Hair & Nails-Mt. Morris.

Local artist Kate Gross helped the little ladies make floral crowns to help accessorize their outfits.  Beautiful and gracious volunteers also helped our little fairies make wands to "sprinke fairy dust" on our guests, plant special fairy gardens in tea cups and more.

Following the fairy fun in the gym, parents and friends came to Nash to watch the 2nd Annual Fairy Fashion Show. It was exciting to see our little fairies "flutter" down the runway showing off their cute outfits and accessories that they made.

Master of Ceremonies Debbie Dickson, Executive Director of the Oregon Chamber shared with the audience little tidbits about the fairies such as their favorite color and food, their pets name and what they would wish for if only granted one special wish.

The runway music, adorable fairies, fabulous outfits, cute smiles, "fairy dust" and more made the event magical.  Professional Photographer Niki Hunt captured these cuties with her "magical" floral background to ensure parents would have a keepsake.  Special thanks to Niki for also capturing the runway performances at the Fashion Show.

The stage was brought to life courtesy of Merlin’s Greenhouse and Flowers.

The Frolicking Fairy event is an annual event held every spring at Nash Recreation Center.
