Flocking for a good cause

Posted

Residents of German Valley, Leaf River and Forreston woke up this April Fool’s Day with flocks of Cardinals in their yards.

As part of a Spring fundraiser for Believe In The Children, Forreston, some Ogle County residents woke up to discover Cardinal heads perching in their yards thanks to donations made by their friends.

Gary and Jane Koeller, Forreston, were one of the first to be flocked. Want the flock safely removed? For a small donation to Believe In The Children, they will be removed immediately. Want to nominate someone to be flocked? Call Believe at 815-837-1500 and get them on the list.  Want to make sure you are never flocked?  Insurance can be put in place for another small donation.

“It is all in good fun for a great cause,” said Fundraising Coordinator Jodi Goeddeke.

Believe In The Children is a nonprofit organization serving at-risk children and their families in Northern Illinois. Flocking will continue until April 30.
