Horseback riding class offered

OREGON – The Oregon Park District has teamed up with White Pines Dude Ranch in Oregon to offer a horseback riding and horse-care class to the public.

This class is suitable for anyone 9 years of age and up. Participants will learn the basic skills needed to care for a horse, as well as enjoy leisure trail rides.

Each session will provide opportunities to experience grooming, saddling, basic ground work, and riding. Lessons include 45 minutes of horse care training and a 45-minute trail ride. Lessons will be differentiated, but are not compounded, so participants can enjoy one lesson or all four.

Classes run each Sunday from July 8-July 29 from 1:30-3 p.m. The full program cost is $200/Residents and $240/Non-Residents. This includes all four sessions. If you wish to sign up for sessions individually, the cost is $60/Residents and $72/Non-Residents.

All riding will be trail-rides, there is no prior experience necessary. This is a perfect opportunity for those interested in horseback riding and care and those who already enjoy it. Classes will be held at White Pines Dude Ranch in Oregon. Registration deadline is June 24.
