OREGON – James A. Porter, 38, lifelong Oregon resident, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021 at KSB Hospital, Dixon. Born Dec. 1, 1982 in Rockford the son of Tim and Beverly (Lloyd) Porter.

James was a 2001 graduate of Oregon High School and was employed for many years with Wagner Construction. He was a member of Oregon Church of God. James was a “Country Kid” who enjoyed tractors, farming, demo-derbies, and hunting and fishing. He especially loved spending time with his nephews and family.

Survived by his parents, Tim and Bev Porter of Oregon; sister, Christine (Ryan) Wexell of Cambridge; nephews: Hunter, Aiden and Levi Wexell; paternal grandparents, Ron and Phyllis Boysen of Eddyville, Ky.; maternal grandmother, Barbara Lloyd of Oregon; maternal grandfather, Ed (Joyce) Lloyd of Springfield; and special companion, Candie Howlett of Oregon.

Predeceased by his paternal grandfather, James A. Porter.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18 in Oregon Church of God with Pastor Michael Hoffman officiating. Private burial in Daysville Cemetery. Visitation was 5-8 p.m. Wednesday in the church. Memorials in James’ name may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Oregon Church of God. Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home assisted the family.
