BYRON – James (Jim) T. Snodgrass, 92, of Byron was reunited with the love of his life on Saturday, Nov.14, 2020. Born Nov. 14, 1928 in Mt. Morris, the son of Fred C. and Carrie (Stevens) Snodgrass, graduated from Durand High School, and a proud veteran of the Korean War.  

He married Eleanor M. Richardson on May 20, 1956 in Byron. Jim owned and operated his own electrical contracting business for over 55 years serving the Byron and surrounding communities. He was fortunate enough to love his job as much as any hobby and by choice worked until he was over 80 years old. He loved gardening, puttering in his shop, and singing karaoke with Eleanor. For many years he raised chickens and hosted an annual chicken fry for family and friends. He was an amazing and beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.  

Survived by son, Orin (Diana) Snodgrass of Byron; daughters, Teresa Snodgrass of Rockford, Lori (Steve) Roscoe of Rockford, Jill (Robert) Evans of Jefferson City, Tenn., and Amy (David) Eder of Byron; brother, Claude (Janet) Snodgrass of Byron; sisters, Donna (Jack) Daws of Forreston, Virginia Miller of Mt. Morris; 10 grandchildren; 5 step-grand children; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eleanor; 5 brothers; 6 sisters; grandson, NathanMerritt; and great-grandson, Jaeden Escorcia.  

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon. There will be a private graveside service with Pastor Randy Snyder officiating.
