STILLMAN VALLEY – Janet L. Turner, 79, longtime Stillman Valley resident, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020 in Serenity Hospice Home, Oregon. Born Aug. 7, 1940 in Princeton, the daughter of Carl and Pearl (Wade) May.

Married to Donald H. Turner Dec. 27, 1959 in Kasbeer, Ill.; he died Sept. 24, 2015. Janet was a 1958 graduate of Princeton High School. She worked with her husband in dairy farming and was also employed by Stillman Valley schools as a cafeteria worker and then at Cacciatore’s Food Mart in Byron for many years. Janet was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oregon and enjoyed gardening and being with her family.

Survived by her sister, Marilyn Fordham of Ohio, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews and great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Also predeceased by her parents.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11 in the First Baptist Church of Oregon with Pastor David Snow officiating. Burial in Daysville Cemetery, rural Oregon. Visitation was 5-7 p.m. Monday in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon. Memorials in Janet’s name may be made to the First Baptist Church of Oregon.
