DIXON – Judith E. Wendling, age 74, passed away on Friday, July 13 at Liberty Court in Dixon. Judith lost her 16-year battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born and raised in Marquette, Iowa. She attended Cedar Rapids Business College after graduating high school as Valedictorian. Judi married Thomas Wendling on June 29, 1963. Judi proudly raised her four children, and then Judi, along with her husband, started a successful computer business in the Chicago suburbs which they ran for over 20 years. Judi always put her family and friends first in her life, but was also an active volunteer. She was an active member in the University of Illinois Homemakers Extension, She volunteered at the Reagan House in Dixon. Judi loved helping the Social Committee at Lost Lake. Judi was an excellent cook and was an avid reader. She loved camping, hiking, biking, and traveling.

 Judi is survived by her husband, Thomas Wendling; daughters, Deborah Kohl (Harry), New Lenox, Ill.; Diana Fountain, Downers Grove; Son, Daniel Wendling (Dawn), Blue Island; and nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Judi is preceded in death by her son David Wendling, Aurora, and her parents.

The Wendling family wishes to thank the entire staff of Liberty Court for their compassionate and loving care during her short stay.

A Celebration of Life was held on Friday, Aug. 3 from 3-8 p.m. in the Holloway Center at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. The funeral Mass was held on Aug. 4 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 612 Highland Avenue, Dixon.
