OREGON – June L. Andrew, age 90, died Friday, April 20, 2018 at Pinecrest Manor in Mount Morris. She was born June 29, 1927 in Rockford the daughter of Magnus and Rose (Wesenburg) Andersen. 

She graduated from Capron High School and was a cadet nurse during WWII where she met her husband William N. Andrew. They were married Jan. 22, 1949 at the Blaine Methodist Church in Blaine, IL. She than attended St. Anthony School of nursing in Rockford and worked at the hospital for several years. She also was a nurse for the Warmolt’s Clinic in Oregon. She served as a nurse at many church camps throughout the Midwest.

June was a longtime member of the Oregon Church of God where she taught the pre-school Sunday Class for over 40 years. She was also a former Deaconess of the church and was part of the Mary Martha’s ladies group at church.  She was known for always sending cards and writing letters to everyone she knew.  She was an avid Cubs fan and loved to watch westerns on TV. 

She was predeceased by her parents, husband William, 2 brothers Francis Andersen and Norman Anderson. 

She is survived by her son John (Sue) Andrew of Oregon, and daughter Susan (Jon) Lapp of Hudson, Wis., 3 grandchildren: Kayla (Terrence) Raper of Oregon, Lillian Andrew of Chicago, and Carson Andrew of Oregon, and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral service was 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Oregon Church of God with the Rev. Michael Hoffman pastor of the church officiating. Visitation was Monday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. 7th Street Oregon, IL.  Burial will be at the Riverview Cemetery near Oregon.
