STILLMAN VALLEY – Karen L. Plumb, age 77, loving mother, grandmother, and sister, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021 following a sudden illness. She was born July 24, 1943 in Rockford the daughter of Martin and Marie (Hosfeldt) Brett. 

She graduated from West High School in 1961. Karen married Dean S. Plumb on June 22, 1963 in Rockford. He preceded her in 2014. Karen formerly worked at the Byron Power Plant and at the Stillman Valley National Bank where she retired from to help take care of her grandchildren. She loved them dearly and enjoyed attending all their activities. 

She was predeceased by her parents, husband Dean, sister-in-law Nancy Brett, and niece Julie Glendenning. 

She is survived by her 2 sons, Bret Plumb (Robin Baird) of Westfield, Wis., and Jason (Jennifer) Plumb of Stillman Valley, 3 grandchildren, Kaylie, Britni, and Cade, brother James Brett of Stillman Valley, sister Kathy (Michael) Fisher of Roscoe, and 6 special nieces, Brenda, Laurie, Richelle, Nancy, Molly, and Megan. 

Private funeral service will be held at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 136 W. Roosevelt Road in Stillman Valley, with the Rev. Robert Mellon pastor of the Monroe Center Community Church officiating. Private burial will be at the Mouth of Stillman Cemetery. A memorial fund is established in Karen’s name.
