POLO – Kenneth LeRoy “Kenny” Jones, 69, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at KSB Hospital in Dixon. He was born March 15, 1953 in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Gordon and Ethelmae Jones.
He moved to Polo the fall of 1953. Graduated from Polo High School in 1972. Attended trade school for small engines. Work history was John Deere-Polo, Woods Brothers-Oregon, International Harvester-Rockford and Rochelle and Bryson Livestock-Polo. His interests were NASCAR, football – The 49ers, baseball – San Francisco Giants, woodworking, fishing, and mainly family.
He is survived by his daughters, Amber of Racine, Wis., and Kayla of Davenport, Iowa (The reason for the gleam in his eyes), sisters Patricia Kuhn of Polo, and Kristine (Steve) Phelps of Polo, brother Chuck Jones of Polo and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and sister Alice Lenz.
"Jonsey" will be remembered by all as a stubborn, hardheaded, kindhearted, beer drinkin’ (Bud Light), give you the shirt off his back, hard worker, handyman, jack of all trade’s kind of guy. If you needed help, give him a call day or night … have a saw will travel. Everyone that ever knew him will never forget him.
Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Aug. 6 at Jeff's Refs-Polo from 11 a.m. till 6 p.m. Please bring a dish to pass and stories to tell.
