Leroy “Doc” Pederson

BYRON – Leroy “Doc” Pederson, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon. He was born on Nov. 7, 1932 in Rice Lake, Wis., the son of Bernard and Borghild (Gaare) Pederson.

He married Patricia McDonald on July 3, 1953 in Byron. She preceded him in death on Feb. 6, 2012. Leroy was a sheet metal fabricator and welder and spent his final years working as a foreman at L. J. Fabricating in Rockford. He was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church. Leroy enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing, hunting, and gardening. He loved music and going to First Fridays. Leroy will be remembered as a hard worker who always tried to stay busy.

He is survived by his children, Cindy Pederson, Randy (Joyce) Pederson and Lori Pederson all of Byron; siblings, Marilyn Demming of Byron and Keith Pederson of Oregon; and grandchildren, Tony (Kristine) Pederson and Alyssa Pederson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings, Dwayne, Larry, Ardis, and Shirley.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018 at All Saints Lutheran Church with Pastor Janet Wold officiating. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018 at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home in Byron. Burial at the Winnebago Cemetery.
