POLO – Lorraine Margaret Hinrichs Heckman Wiltfang, born April 4, 1936 to Leroy and Margaret (Peters) Hinrichs in Polo, died early Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018.

Lorraine married John Heckman on Feb. 26, 1954. She later married Merle Wiltfang on Jan. 4, 1996 in Dixon.

Lorraine is survived by her four daughters, Rhonda Byers, Freeport, Sarah (Bud Gaulrapp) Heckman, Lake Carroll, Donna (L. B.) Leonard Lassiter, Golconda, Ill., and Linda (Jerry) Hose, Polo. Grandchildren, Christy (Scott Douglass) Brinkmeier, Ryan (Catherine) Byers, Paul Terrock, Callie (Chris) Lhost, Liz Rummel, Kala (Travis) Bonnell and Jerry (Nicole) Hose; 12 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, special niece Janice Geuther and special cousin Marge Immel, as well as one great niece, Elizabeth Geuther, two great nephews, Zach (Molly) and Garrett Geuther and cousins.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, one brother Wayne Hinrichs, sister in law and one son in law.

Lorraine graduated from Polo Community High School in 1954. She was employed at Polo Rehab & Health Care Center, PN&C and later Kable News. Lorraine was a devoted mother and a 4-H leader for over 20 years in Ogle County. She loved to bowl, sew, crochet, traveling, reading Debbie Macomber books and research family genealogy. She also enjoyed watching the birds, gardening and canning. She was an active member at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2035 IL Rt 26, Dixon. Burial will be immediately following at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.
