Fresh off the hooves of their last event, the staff at Pegasus Special Riders is planning the “Mane” Event for Sunday, Sept. 23.

The event, which has previously been the Horseshoe Ball, will be held at Barnacopia in Polo. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. for appetizers and a cocktail hour and will feature food and entertainment along with an auction.

Guests can take the opportunity to see the interesting items and memorabilia including three levels of antique cars and restored tractors.

Darah Bridgeman, Executive Director at Pegasus explained more on the entertainment and food offered.

“Guests can expect to be in awe of magician Adam Sean, and his amazing abilities,” Bridgeman said. “The Pinecricker Café of Polo will be catering in a mouth-watering prime rib dinner and dessert bar. Following dinner, there will be a live and silent auction with auctioneer Matt Hart.”

Adding, “For those who cannot make it, there will still be an opportunity to support Pegasus through their raffle.”

Items raffled include a Fitbit Versa Smartwatch, Fire TV Cube, and an Echo Smart speaker with Alexa. Raffle tickets are $5 each or $25 for six and can be purchased on the day of the event or in advance by calling 815-973-3177.

Tickets for the “Mane” Event are $60. Please call 815-973-3177 by Sept. 7 to reserve your tickets and ensure your spot for the event.

Special thanks

Bridgeman and the staff at Pegasus Special Riders also extend their thanks for all who came out to the annual picnic on July 14.

“We would especially like to thank the Hub City Cruisers for attending and bringing their exemplary cars for a ‘show and shine’,” Bridgeman added. “Without the support of their instructors, volunteers, and groups like the Hub City Cruisers, Pegasus would not be able to have the outreach into the community like they do. They are so blessed to have so many devoted supporters as well.”
