Marcia (Seabold) Hogan

BYRON – Marcia (Seabold) Hogan of Byron passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018. Marcia fought a courageous 6-month battle with leukemia. She was born April 28, 1957, in Rockford; the daughter of Edward and Leona (Brass) Seabold.

She married her high school sweetheart Kim Hogan almost 42 years ago at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Oregon. She graduated from Byron High School in 1975. Marcia’s passions in life were her children, grandchildren and her flower gardens. She worked for Mercy Health system of Rockford for over 30 years. Beginning her career with the React flight program and ending as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher.

She was predeceased by her parents, an infant daughter, and her mother-in-law Dawn Hogan.

She is survived by her husband Kim of Byron, three children; Bridy (Chad) Springer of Byron, Brett (Lindsay) Hogan of Navarre, Fla., and Breann (Luke) Vucsko of Stillman Valley, seven grandchildren; Dylan and Gavin Springer, Alex and Maci Hogan, Cooper, Bryson, and Ryder Vucsko, three brothers; Larry (Diane) Seabold of Byron, Terry Seabold of Byron, and Mike (Belinda) Seabold of Oregon, and her father-in-law Fran Hogan of Byron. 

Funeral service were 11 .am., Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018 at the Ebenezer Reformed Church with the Rev. Marv Jacobs officiating. Burial was in the Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation was from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday evening at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 506 W. Merchant St. in Byron.

Marcia’s family wish to give a special thank you to her wonderful nurses, doctors and caregivers at UW Hospital and Clinics for treating Marcia and our family with such great care and respect.
