Mount Morris man charged with Class X Felony

OREGON — On the early morning hours of Oct. 30, detectives with the Dixon Police Department and the Ogle County Sheriff's Office responded to a Rockford hospital where a five-month-old was being treated for suspected abuse.

It was determined the abuse occurred in rural Mount Morris and Detectives learned the infant had fractured ribs, arms, legs and wrist bones. The infant also sustained a skull fracture, cranial bleeding and a collapsed lung.

On Oct. 31 around midnight, officers with the Dixon Police Department located and took into custody Shane D. Wilson, 19, of Mount Morris, for outstanding Ogle County arrest warrants and transported him to the Ogle County Jail. On Nov 1 at 12:45 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Detectives arrested Wilson for Aggravated Battery to a Child, a class X Felony. Wilson appeared in court on Nov. 2 where his bond was set at $500,000; 10 percent applies.
