FORRESTON – Norman Lowell Ludwig, 86, of Forreston, died Thursday, Sep. 19, 2019 at Parkview Home, Freeport. Norman was born July 17, 1933 in Forreston, the son of Albert and Martha (Rose) Ludwig.

Norman married Mary Ellen Knodle. He proudly served for his county in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He was a member of Forreston United Methodist Church where he was a Youth Leader, also, a member of Forreston American Legion and the Mt. Morris Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards. Norman was a lifelong farmer in his hometown of Forreston.

Surviving is his wife, Mary Ellen Ludwig; three sons, Jeff (Patti) Ludwig of Byron, Dave (Sue) Ludwig of Forreston and Ted Ludwig of Webster, Minn.; grandchildren, Ryan (Mandy) Ludwig, Rob (Lindsay) Ludwig, Caitlin (Adam) Pusateri, Nick (Tara) Ludwig, Elizabeth Ludwig, Kristy (Matt) Nokes and Nikki (Kyle) Darst; and great-grandchildren, Aryanna Martel, Elle Ludwig, Emery Ludwig, Presley Ludwig and Marin Pusateri, and Remmer Ludwig.

Preceded in death by his parents, brother, Arland; and sister, Dolores.

Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2019 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Forreston. Visitation was 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Haldane Cemetery.
