Oct. 22

At approximately 6:15 a.m., Ogle County Sheriffs deputies responded to a one vehicle accident in the 500 block of E. Townline Road. After an investigation it was determined that a 3 axle dump truck being driven by Jeffery Pitzer, 57 of Franklin Grove, was westbound on Townline Road when he swerved to avoid a deer crossing the roadway. The dump truck entered the north ditch and struck the ditch embankment. The truck went up and over the embankment and came to a stop approximately 200 feet off of the roadway. Pitzer was transported to Swedish American hospital to be treated for injuries.  No citations were issued.

Oct. 21

At approximately 11:37 a.m., Ogle County Deputies responded to the 4000 block of E. IL Rte 72 in reference to a disturbance. After brief investigation, Deputies arrested Cory Ballinger, 48 of Decatur, for Disorderly Conduct. Ballinger was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released to Correctional Staff and held in lieu of bond.

Oct. 20

At 12:27 hours, Deputies conducted a traffic stop at Hemstock Rd. and Illinois Rte. 251. After a short investigation Deputies arrested Raymond Kasper, 56 of Rockford for driving while license revoked.  Kasper was released on a notice to appear with a court date of 11/26/21 at 0900 hours.  

At approximately 11:06 p.m., Deputies performed a traffic stop in the 7,000 Block of N. IL Rte. 2.  After investigation, Deputies placed Christopher Camacho, 22 of Creston under arrest for Driving While License Suspended.  Camacho was additionally issued a citation for an inoperable registration light.  Camacho was released on an I-Bond at the scene and was given a future court date.  

Oct. 19

At approximately 6:12 p.m., Ogle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 3000 block of N IL Rte 2. After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested Adelmo A. Garcia-Colindres, 33 of Hoffman Estates, for No Driver’s License.  Garcia-Colindres was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.  Garcia-Colindres was also cited for Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle and No Splash Guards.

Oct. 18

Deputies were advised of a vehicle traveling north on I39 from mile marker 58 that had been seen pointing a gun at passing motorists. At 3:38 p.m., Deputies located the vehicle and after a short investigation arrested Joshua Logan, 40 of Maple Grove MN for unlawful possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver and unlawful possession of cannabis improper container. An unloaded cased firearm was also located in the vehicle. Logan was transported to the Ogle Co. Jail and held in lieu of bond. Deputies were assisted by Illinois State Police and the Illinois Dept. of Conservation Police. The investigation is pending.  

At approximately 8:17 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop near Penn Corner Road and Anterior Road for an equipment violation. After investigation, Frank Malston, 27 of Mount Morris, was placed under arrest for driving on a suspended license. Malston was also cited for an inoperable registration light and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Malston was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. 

Oct. 17

At approximately 4:06 p.m., Deputies responded to a motorcycle accident in the 10700 block of North Illinois Rt 2. An investigation revealed a northbound motorcycle being driven by Michael Daun, 60 of Island Lake, failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and entered the east ditch. Daun sustained apparent minor injuries in the accident and was transported to Swedish American Hospital by Byron EMS. The accident remains under investigation.

At approximately 12:27 a.m., Deputies responded to a driving complaint in the 3,000 block of East IL Rte. 64. A short time later Deputies were able to locate the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop while in the 2,000 block of E. Brick Road. After investigation, Deputies placed Paul Harrison, 49 of Chana under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.  Harrison was additionally issued a citation for Improper Lane Usage. Harrison was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.  

At approximately 9:37 p.m. Deputies performed a traffic stop in the 17,000 block of E. IL Rte. 64.  After investigation, Deputies placed, Takyra Young, 31 of Rockford under arrest for No Valid Driver's License. Young was additionally issued a citation for an inoperable registration light. Young was released on an I-Bond and given a ride to Rochelle. The passenger, Fatimah Edmond, 24 of Rockford, was additionally arrested for a FTA Ogle County Warrant for Driving While License Suspended. Edmond was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

At approximately 2 a.m., Ogle County Deputies along with Lynn Scott Rock EMS responded to the 4500 block of N. IL Rte. 251 for a two vehicle accident. After a short investigation, it was determined that Stephanie Neff, 36 of Holcomb, was traveling northbound on N. IL Rte. 251. when she struck a pickup truck traveling northbound in front of her near the rear driver's side truck bed. The truck was driven by Austin Nutt, 19 of Dixon and was accompanied by two juveniles. Nutt and the two juveniles were treated on scene by Lynn Scott Rock EMS and released. Neff was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Neff was issued citations for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident and Following too Close. Neff received an I Bond with a return court date later next month. 

Oct. 16

At approximately 3:48 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the Circle K gas station parking lot in Byron. After further investigation Dontay Caviness, 36 of Rockford was placed under arrest for Driving While License Suspended, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis 30-100 grams, and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis/Improper Container. A passenger in the vehicle, Rachel Jones, 33 of Rockford was placed under arrest for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis/Improper Container. Jones was released on an Individual Bond. Caviness was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Oct. 15

At approximately 6:54 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 7000 block of North Stillman Rd.  After further investigation Dylan Evans, 22 of Rockford was placed under arrest for Driving While License Suspended, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis 30-100 grams, and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis/Improper Container.  Evans was also cited for Speeding and Loud Exhaust.  A passenger in the vehicle, Nicholas Maxey, 22 of Loves Park was placed under arrest for an outstanding Ogle County warrant.  Maxey was also cited for Illegal transportation of Alcohol.  Evans and Maxey were both transported to the Ogle County Jail where they were held in lieu of bond.

Oct. 13

At approximately 6:21 p.m., Deputies responded to the area of Broad Street and Green Street in Grand Detour for a check welfare of an intoxicated subject. After investigation, Deputies placed James Abbott, 28 of Grand Detour, under arrest for Aggravated Battery to Peace Officer. Abbott was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond awaiting a court appearance.  

Oct. 12

At about 12:19 p.m., Deputies stopped a 2005 Chevy Cobalt on I39 at mile marker 101 northbound for an equipment violation.  After a short investigation Deputies arrested Omar Spearman, 34 of Iowa City IA for driving while his license was suspended.  Omar was released on a $2500 I-bond and will appear in court on 11-12-21 at 0900 hours.  

At approximately 7:03 p.m. Deputies responded to a violation of order of protection in the 300 block of W. Balsam Street in Forreston.  After investigation, Deputies placed,  Darrell Starr Jr., 38 of Forreston under arrest for Violation of an Order of Protection.  Starr was transported to the Ogle County Jail pending a court appearance in front of a judge. 

Oct. 10

At approximately 9:05 p.m. Deputies performed a traffic stop at the intersection of Mulford Road and Lind Road after the vehicle was called in as a driving complaint.  After investigation, Deputies placed Derek Jarvis, 35 of Rochelle under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.  Jarvis was additionally issued a citation for Improper Lane Usage.  Jarvis was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.  

At approximately 7:53 p.m., Deputies came upon a single vehicle accident with no injuries at the intersection of IL Rte. 251 and IL Rte. 72.  After a short investigation, Deputies placed Paul Chareun, 64 of Crest Hill, IL under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Chareun was additionally issued a citation for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Acccident. Chareun was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.  

Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Wayne Master, 47 of New Lenox, Il. for driving while license suspended. Master was arrested by deputies on I-39 near Rte. 64 after being stopped for speeding. Master was released on a I-bond and will appear in Ogle County court at a later date. 

Oct. 8

At approximately 9:30 a.m., Deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Stillman Valley Road and Hales Corner Road. After conducting an investigation, it was learned that a white Ford F550 driven by Brian Johnson of Byron proceeded eastbound through the aforementioned intersection without giving the right of way to a silver Honda Accord traveling northbound driven by Dylan Boyd of Stillman Valley. Johnson was cited for Disobeying a Traffic Control Device. Boyd was transported to Swedish American Hospital for suspected minor injuries.  

Oct. 7

At approximately 5:21 p.m. Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 6000 block of N. IL RTE 2.  After further investigation, Arturo M. Garcia, 25 of Rockford, was placed under arrest for No Valid Driver’s License. Garcia was also cited for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and No Valid Registration. Garcia was released on an I-Bond.

At approximately 6:34 p.m. Deputies were dispatched to a driving complaint at Main St. and 6th St. in Leaf River. As a result, Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 100 block of Main St. After further investigation a juvenile female of Leaf River, was placed under arrest for No Valid Driver’s License. The juvenile was released to a guardian with a date to appear in court.
