The Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle on Hwy 251 near Dutch Road for speeding. The driver of the vehicle sped away in an attempt to flee and elude Deputies. The vehicle stopped on I-39 near mile marker 95 after having mechanical problems. The driver Karen Schroeder, 52, of Rochelle was arrested for Aggravated Fleeing to Elude and Driving on a Revoked License. Schroeder was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.
June 1
At approximately 1:20 a.m., the Ogle County Sheriff's Office responded to a rural address on West Henry Rd., in regards to an unwanted subject. Upon arrival, Robert A. Romero, 35 (homeless), was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. He was taken to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
The Ogle County Sheriff Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at 3920 N. East Line Rd in Monroe Center. The investigation by Ogle County Sheriff Deputies led to the arrest of Richard D'Onofrio, 61, for aggravated assault and disorderly conduct. D'Onofrio was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.
May 30
At approximately 9:48 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a disturbance call in Leaf River. Upon arrival, Deputies learned the offender has left the residence. Shortly after, the offender was spotted and the Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 400 block of East 3rd Street in Leaf River. After a brief investigation Deputies placed Ronald J. Reittinger, 37 of Leaf River, under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Disorderly Conduct. Reittinger was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
At 4:55 AM, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a damage to property call on High Road, Stillman Valley. After a further investigation Zackary D Huff, 33 of Davis Junction, was located at 118 Azalea Ave, Davis Junction. Huff was charged with 3 counts of Felony Criminal Damage to Property, Criminal Damage to State Supported Property, Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer, and Resisting Arrest. Huff was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.
At 1:26 p.m., the Ogle County Sheriff's Office, Lynn Scott Rock Fire Department, and the Lynn Scott Rock Ambulance responded to a two vehicle accident with injuries in the 12,000 block E. Route 72. A silver Ford Taurus was traveling westbound on Route 72 when it crossed over the center line striking the driver's side of a brown Chevrolet Silverado traveling eastbound. Both vehicles came to a stop in the south side ditch. The driver of the Ford Taurus Michael D. Lord, 60 of Stillman Valley, was transported to Kishwaukee Community Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado Dewey D. Barnes, 68 of Kirkland, refused medical treatment at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
May 29
At 6:33 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 3000 block of S. Lowell Park Rd. for a traffic violation. After an investigation, Joseph Geesey, 55 of Mt. Morris, was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol. Geesey was transported to the Rochelle Police Department and was released on a $3000 I-Bond.
May 27
The Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Jada Williams, 18, of Junction City, Wis., for driving while license suspended. Williams was arrested and released on am I-Bond after being stopped or speeding on I-39.
May 26
At approximately 7:59 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the 10000 block of North Illinois Route 2. After investigation, Deputies placed Jesse Lapointe, 37, from Forreston, under arrest for Driving with a Suspended License and a Denver, Colorado FTA warrant for Dangerous Drugs. Lapointe was additionally issued a citation for Operating a Motor Vehicle where the Registration is Suspended. Lapointe was transported to the Ogle Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
At 12:16 hours, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 4000 block of N. Route 251. After an investigation, deputies arrested Timothy Patzka, 50, of Rockford for, Driving While License Revoked, Obstructing a Peace Officer, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, and four outstanding warrants out of Rockford PD, Ogle, Lee, and Lasalle County. Patzka was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he is being held in lieu of bond.
At 7:33 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the area of 17000 E. Crill Rd. for the report of a one vehicle crash. After an investigation, it was determined that Charles E. Gordon III, 22 of Rockford, drove his Ford Mustang into the ditch. Gordon and the two other occupants of the vehicle were uninjured. Gordon was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
At 8:06 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on River road at CL Myers drive. After a short investigation Deputies arrested Anthony Kerce, 42 of Oregon, for DUI, Aggravated DUI, Driving While License Revoked and Driving While License Suspended. Kerce was transported to the Ogle Co Jail and held without bond pending his court appearance on 05/27/2020.
May 25
At approximately 5:51 p.m.Deputies responded to the intersection of Montague Rd and Pecatonica Rd for a single vehicle motorcycle accident. An investigation revealed a motorcycle driven by Terry Brannon, 53 of Leaf River, was traveling eastbound on Montague Rd when it failed to negotiate the ramp onto Pecatonica Rd. The motorcycle entered the median where it overturned multiple times. Brannon received serious injuries and was flown from the scene by REACT Helicopter. Pursuant to an investigation Brannon was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Byron and Leaf River EMS. The accident remains under investigation.
At 4:21 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies initiated a traffic stop at Holcomb Road and Lindenwood Road. After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested Christian Elliott, 25 of Malta, for Driving While License Suspended. Elliott was released on an I-Bond and will appear in court on 08/19/20 at 9 a.m.
At 4:54 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop on I-88 at mile marker 79 East Bound. After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested Shantori Bell, 36 of Clinton, Iowa, for Driving While License Revoked. Bell was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.
May 24
At approximately 8 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies received a call of a hit and run at the intersection of Pershing and Rural Streets in the Village of Stillman Valley. A short time later, Christopher Rozakis, 35, of Stillman Valley was located and charged with DUI drugs, leaving the scene of an accident, and use of unsafe tires. He was released on an I Bond at the Rochelle Hospital with a later court date in Oregon.
May 24
At approximately 2:40 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop on I-39 at mile marker 103 1/2 northbound. After conducting an investigation Joshua Carey, 32, of Rochelle was placed under arrest for driving while license suspended. Carey was also issued a citation for no valid insurance. Carrey was issued an I-bond with a return court date.
May 23
At 7:54 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies observed a tan van disobey the stop sign at IL 251 and IL 72. A traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Rueben Dario Reyes-Allanco, 34, of Carpentersville. He was charged with DUI, No Valid Drivers License, No Vehicle Insurance, and Illegal Transportation of Open Alcohol. He was taken to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.
