Ogle County Sheriff 9-26-22


Sept. 2
At approximately 1:18 a.m., Ogle County Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on I-39 near mile marker 105. The offending vehicle failed to stop, at which time Deputies pursued the vehicle. The pursuit came to rest at mile marker 112, at which time the driver, identified as Patrick Larson, age 22 of Rochelle was placed under arrest for Aggravated Fleeing to Elude a Peace Officer. Larson was additionally charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Crack/Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Crack/Cocaine, Possession of LSD with Intent to Distribute, Possession of LSD, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Clonzepam), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm as a Felon, Possession of a Firearm without a FOID, Possession of Stolen Plates, Driving While License Revoked and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Larson was issued citations for Reckless Driving, Speeding, Improper Lane Usage and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Larson was subsequently transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. Ogle County was assisted by Illinois State Police District One. All subjects are presumed innocent.

Aug. 31
At approximately 12:49 a.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop on Illinois Rt 64 near German Church Rd. After further investigation Jared Portwood, 46 of Lindenwood, was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Portwood was also cited for speeding. Portwood was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. All subjects are presumed innocent. 

At 4:35 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of East Big Mound Road and North Junction Road. After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested Lorenzo Glenn of Yorkville, Illinois, for Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Lorenzo was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond. Lorenzo was also issued citations for equipment and moving violations. Additionally, Anthony Glenn of Radcliff, Kentucky was arrested for an outstanding warrant. Anthony was transported to the Ogle County Jail and awaits extradition. All subjects are presumed innocent.

Aug. 30
At approximately 3:13 p.m. Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 8,000 block of S. IL Rte. 38.  Deputies attempted to make contact with the driver of a green Pontiac Grand Prix, but the male driver refused to cooperate before leaving the scene and traveling eastbound on IL Rte. 38.  Deputies pursued the vehicle before losing sight of the vehicle in Rochelle.  A short time later, Deputies located the driver, Steven Baldwin, 59 of Rochelle and vehicle in the 400 block of N. 6th Street.   Baldwin was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Fleeing to Elude, Obstructing a Police Officer, and Fleeing to Elude a Police Officer. Baldwin was additionally issued citations for operating an uninsured vehicle, improper lane usage, speeding over 26-34 mph over the speed limit, use of headset receivers, expired registration, and use of an electronic communications device. Baldwin was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he is being held pending a court appearance in front of a judge. All subjects are presumed innocent.   

At approximately 12:07 a.m., Deputies responded to the 8000 block of South Illinois Rt 251 in reference to a suspicious person. Upon contact with Deputies, the offender fled southbound in his vehicle. Deputies pursued the vehicle, which eventually was stopped at 14th St and Sunset Terrace in Rochelle. The driver, identified as Joshua Cruz, 34 of Rochelle, was taken into custody for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, with the assistance of the Ogle County K9. Deputies were also assisted by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the Illinois State Police, and Rochelle Police and EMS. The incident remains under investigation with further charges pending. All subjects are presumed innocent. 

Aug. 29
At 2:43 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop after receiving a reckless driver call at IL Route 72 and Limestone Road.  After an investigation, Deputies placed Luis Romero Amaya, 32 of Rockford under arrest for No Valid Driver’s License.  Luis was given an I-bond at the scene with a return court date.  All subjects are presumed innocent.

At 5:51 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 18,000 block of East Illinois Rt 64 for an equipment violation.  After an investigation, Estevan Munoz, 22 of Rochelle, was arrested for no valid driver’s license. Munoz was also issued a citation for illegal window tint. Munoz was released on a signature I-Bond with a return court date. All subjects are presumed innocent.

​At approximately 8:08 p.m., Ogle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 4600 block of North Illinois Route 251.  After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested Glenn G Wille, 41 of Davis Junction, for Driving While License Suspended.  Wille was taken into custody without incident and released on scene on a $2,500 individual bond with a return court date set.  Wille was additionally cited for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and for an inoperable registration light.  All subjects are presumed innocent. 

Aug. 28
At approximately 1 p.m., the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office located a vehicle that had been previously pursued by the Winnebago County Sheriffs Office and the Oregon Police Department. The vehicle was located in the 16000 block of E. IL. Rte. 64 travelling eastbound at 110 mph.  A short time later the car crashed just west of Mulford Rd. on Rte. 64. The driver, and only occupant, of the vehicle fled on foot after the crash and later gave herself up to Deputies.  The female was taken to Rochelle Hospital for minor injuries sustained in the crash by Lynn-Scott-Rock Ambulance.  The driver was identified as Krystal Quigley, 37 from Dekalb. She was charged with DUI-drugs, possession of controlled substance, reckless driving, speeding (110 in a 55mph zone), no insurance, improper lane usage, and fail to reduce speed to avoid an accident.  The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Dekalb County K9 unit.  All subjects presumed innocent.

At approximately 7:38 p.m., Ogle County Deputies were dispatched to the 14,000 block of West Milledgeville Road for the report of damage to property.  After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested a 17-year-old juvenile for Criminal Damage to Property.  The juvenile was taken into limited custody without incident and released on scene.  The juvenile was additionally cited for Operating an ATV/Non-Highway Vehicle On the Roadway.  ​All subjects presumed innocent. 

Aug. 27
At 12:51 a.m., Deputies with assistance from Byron Police Department, conducted a traffic stop at Mill Road and Tower Road. After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested William Owens of Davis Junction, for driving while license suspended. Owens was released on a $2,500 I-Bond with a return court date. Owens was also issued a citation for expired registration. All subjects are presumed innocent. 

At approximately 1 p.m., Ogle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop within the 15000 block of E Illinois Route 64.  After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested Ciarra A. Morgan, 21 of Rockford, for driving on a suspended driver’s License.  Morgan was taken into custody without incident, and released at the scene on an individual bond with a return court date set. Morgan was additionally cited for no front registration, and provided a warning for Window tint.   All subjects are presumed innocent.

At approximately 6:13 p.m., Ogle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of east Mason Street in Polo. After a brief investigation, Brandon Fenton, 21 of Polo, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis as a Passenger. Fenton was released on an individual bond and issued a return court date. All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty. 

Aug. 26
At 2:43 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop at East Illinois Route 72 and German Church Road. After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested Kevin Mclaughlin of West Union, Iowa, for driving while license suspended, two in state warrants, and one out of state warrant. Mclaughlin was transported to Ogle County Jail, where he is held in lieu of bond. All subjects are presumed innocent.

ogle County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Tavaris Hunter Bell, 20 of Milwaukee, Wi. for driving while license revoked. Hunter was arrested by deputies on I-39 near Rte 64 after being stopped for speeding. Hunter Bell was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.

Aug. 25
At approximately 9:46 p.m., Ogle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Caron Road, just north of East Illinois Route 38, in Rochelle. After investigation, Deputies arrested George Ogundipe, 43 of DeKalb, for Possession of a Controlled Substance (Crack/Cocaine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Ogundipe was subsequently transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending an appearance before a judge. All subjects are presumed innocent.

At approximately 10:03 a.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of S. Ogle Ave. and Front St.  After investigation, Deputies placed Bridgette Falk, age 50 of Polo under arrest for a no valid driver’s license.  Falk was additionally issued citations for the use of an electronic communication device and operating an uninsured vehicle.  Falk was released on an I-Bond at the scene and given a future court date.  All subjects are presumed innocent.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I-88 at MM#75. After further investigation Deputies arrested Melanie Ortega, 30 of Carpentersville, for driving while license suspended.  Ortega was also cited for suspended registration and speeding. Ortega released on an Individual Bond with a future court date given.


Aug. 24
At approximately 5:32 a.m., Ogle County deputies responded to a single vehicle accident in the 11,000 block of North Conger Road.  After an investigation, it was learned that Lawrence Rodriguez, 49 of Byron was heading northbound on Conger on his Harley Davidson motorcycle, when a deer ran out in front of him and he struck it. Rodriguez was transported to Mercy Health Center by Byron EMS for minor injuries.
